Georgina Dowley
Out of School Club Manager 

Georgina, our longest serving staff member works within preschool as well as managing the Out of School Club, She’s a real expert in homemade fruit crumbles. She is also a SENCO, ENCO and our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Jo Payne

Deputy Manager 

Joanne joined Smarties in 2021 and uses her creative flair for creating our posters, prospectuses, social media campaigns and much more. She also works within the Pre School and brings tons of positive energy to the room as well as deputising for the setting.

Cloe Hollis

Pre School Manager

Cloe joined Smarties as Preschool Manager in November 2023 after working within the childcare sector for over 10 years.

Cloe is our Designated Safeguarding Lead, SENCO and is currently completing the end of her Level 5 degree.

 

 

 

Charlotte 

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Charlotte rejoined Smarties in March 2023 and has had a varied career in the childcare industry. Gentle and patient,  she especially loves exploring outside with the children as well as messy play.

Tracy

Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Tracy joined Smarties in August 2022 and brings a wealth of experience to her role. Calm, patient with a great sense of humour, Tracy really enjoys story-time and cooking with the children.

Joanne joined Smarties in October 2022 after a career break. A bubbly character, she brings a wealth of experience and lots of fantastic ideas for preschool!

Keziah

Preschool Apprentice

Kezia joined us in June 2022 and works within the Preschool as well as at the Out of School Club too. She began her formal childcare qualifications in September 2022 and is our Preschool Apprentice.

Kathy Coleman

Out of School Assistant (Level 3)

Kathy joined Smarties in 2013. She loves outdoor play with the children and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in Early Years.

Chair

Victoria joined as a Committee Member in 2020 and took over the Chairman role in June 2021. She is an Associate Professor of Research at a local university and co-founder and director of ImmuOne.

 Lorraine

Treasurer

Lorraine joined the committee in 2021 and took over as Treasurer in April 2022. She works part-time as an engineer and feels passionately about the local community and was therefore very happy to join the Smarties Committee.

Emily

Secretary

Emily joined the committee in 2021. She’s a civil servant whose recent work has focused on analytics, information security and practice management. She hopes to make a small difference to Steeple Morden’s Community and Early Years Provision by volunteering on the Smarties Committee.

 

Amanda

Committee Member

Amanda works as an Associate Director of Workforce at a local university teaching hospital and volunteers locally as a youth football coach as well as being on the Smarties Committee. Amanda has previously held the role of Treasurer at Smarties and is continually impressed by the passion and dedication of the Smarties Team.

Zoe

Committee Member

Zoe is a journalist who specialises in politics and social affairs. She’s currently working part-time as a programme editor for a news channel. She especially loves the community feel to the Smarties setting and hopes to use her contacts within the local community to benefit the setting.
